A reference list of what SlackVault does. Each item is a real, shipped capability.

Backup & capture​

  • Complete message backup — public channels, private channels, direct messages, group DMs, threaded conversations, and emoji reactions are captured and preserved from your workspace.
  • Files & media storage — images, documents, PDFs, code snippets, videos, and other attachments are backed up (via FilesHub) and remain accessible after Slack's retention expires.
  • User directory — a complete record of workspace members: roles, profiles, email addresses, and metadata.
  • Threads & reactions — full thread reply chains and all emoji reactions with user attribution; thread relationships are preserved so conversations read in context.

Find & use your data​

  • Instant full-text search — search across all messages, files, and channels, with filters by date, channel, and user.
  • Export options — export as JSON (full data + metadata), CSV (tabular for spreadsheets), or PDF (readable conversation logs). Export a single channel or your whole archive.
  • Import — bring in an existing Slack export (ZIP/JSON) so older history sits alongside synced data.

Sync & control​

  • Automatic sync — background syncing keeps backups current without manual work; configurable as manual only, every 6 hours, every 12 hours, or daily.
  • Sync dashboard — visual progress, totals (messages / channels / files), storage usage, and the next scheduled sync.
  • Granular control — choose which channels and data types to include; include or exclude private channels, DMs, and files independently; set how far back to sync.
  • Notifications — get notified when syncs complete or if an issue arises.

Ownership & privacy​

  • Your data, your control — everything is stored in your own Firebase project and FilesHub account. Delete individual messages, entire channels, or all SlackVault data anytime.
  • Read-only Slack access — every OAuth scope is read-only; SlackVault cannot post or modify anything in your workspace.
  • No content analytics — Slack message content is never used for analytics.
  • Multi-workspace — connect multiple workspaces; each stores data in its own Firebase collection.

Platforms​

  • Web app — the product site and archive viewer at slackvault.aoneahsan.com, also packaged as an Android app.
  • Browser extension — Manifest V3, the engine that performs the sync.
